Our Models
We like to think of our cars as bespoke driving instruments. Every restoration maintains the perfect balance between the original DNA of the air-cooled era and an extensive upgrade of performance and aesthetic elements of the vehicle. We work with every client to plan, design and build a truly one-off example of an extraordinary sports car.
Our first prototype was built on a Turbo, but our commission range includes C2 and C4 coupes as well as convertibles.
The Process
The build process begins with the sourcing of a donor vehicle which the client provides or we source on behalf of the client. Once we receive the vehicle, it undergoes a comprehensive inspection to ensure that the foundation is solid and straight. The car is then completely disassembled and stripped to determine which parts are to be kept and reconditioned or to be replaced.
The underbody, chassis, frunk area and engine bay undergo an extensive dry-ice cleaning to bring those areas back to as-new condition. Repairs are made as required.
All parts that are to be retained and reconditioned are carefully catalogued and stored until reassembly. After this step, the car goes on to body modifications and paint.
Body & Paint
Depending on the model that is selected, fenders and bumpers are designed to enhance the stance of the car and allow for a wider track and wider wheels.
For the paint, it all starts with your vision and we build on that vision working with you to select the custom paint colour. Paint colours can be selected form our in-house array of paint colour or we can work with you to formulate a fully custom colour that will be unique to your commission.
Engine
Our engines are built by Mantis Auto Sport in Oakville, Canada to meet our specifications to create the ultimate twin turbo power plant. The original block is bored out to 3.8L for a power output of 550 HP @ 6000 RPM and 553lb ft of torque @ 4500 RPM. Max RPM is 6900 and 0 - 100 km/h takes a mere 3.7 seconds, with a top speed of 331 km/h.
Engines are built using the existing engine block, with 107mm Mahle pistons, Carillo connecting rods & new GT2 EVO sport cams. Stainless steel valves with titanium retainers and mechanical rocker arm conversions with oil-lubricated rocker shafts improve stability at high RPM. New Borg Warner K24/26 hybrid race turbo chargers and a stage 3 billet GT3 oil pump improve cooling. Billet valve covers and machined heads are installed along with a motorsport GT2 intercooler replacing the OEM intercooler for better flow.
Clutch, Transmission & Suspension
The OEM clutch is replaced by a Sachs Motorsports clutch for more precise performance. The Getrag 50 6-speed transmission is fully reconditioned and the original shift linkage is upgraded with a short-shift kit for more precise shifting.
The suspension is upgraded with new components and bushings and a fully adjustable system is installed using Motion Control Suspension (MCS) components. The 2WNR/2WR systems offers independent adjustment for both high-speed compression and rebound tuning, ideal for dual-purpose street and track set-ups. The result is a smoother ride on all road surfaces.
Wheels
The original track of the 993 Turbo is squared off and wider front fenders are installed to provide for a wider stance.
Custom 3-piece forged wheels are manufactured with 10” wide front rims and 12” wide rear rims. The larger custom wheels allow for replacement of the OEM tire sizes with wider tires, which in our case are Michelin PS2 tires with 265/35/ZR18 on the fronts and 315/30/ZR18 on the rears. The result is an increased rubber patch on the road providing for more aggressive cornering on track and on b-roads
Interior
The ethos for every Supergeil interior focuses on the perfect balance between retaining the iconic essence of the original interior with modern, luxurious design elements. Our interiors are hand-crafted by artisans using the highest quality materials.
Dashboards, interior panels and seats can be upholstered in leather, Alcantara or wool. Modern amenities such as touch-screens featuring Apple Car Play or Android Auto with Bluetooth connectivity can be installed. Further comfort features such as USB jacks, cupholders and back-up cameras can be added. All interior lighting is upgraded with LED technology. A 10 speaker Focal sound system powder by a Focal 5-channel amplifier and Focal subwoofers enhances the cabin experience.
The end goal is to provide a truly refined bespoke cabin that elevates the entire driving experience
